Dogsledding in the backcountry
Elias Jørgensenip Aqq, 3952 Ilulissat
Come alone, or bring the whole family along on our most popular dog sledding tour, a 6.5 km adventure through the stunning backcountry of Ilulissat. This tour is ideal for all ages and provides a gentle introduction to dog sledding in Greenland’s magnificent landscape. We follow a mostly flat trail along a traditional sled route, surrounded by beautiful mountains that create a breathtaking backdrop the entire way. Along the journey, we soak in the fresh Arctic air and enjoy the unique tranquility, only interrupted by the cheerful barking of the dogs and the sound of the sled gliding over the snow. When we reach the foot of Akinaaq Mountain, we’ll take a break to warm up with a delicious hot drink. Here, everyone will have a chance to play with and pet our friendly sled dogs, who always love the attention. This family-friendly tour is designed to be accessible to all, ensuring a memorable experience of Greenland’s nature and the traditional sledding culture for every participant.
